15 tips on what to do in Prague through winter for free

Exams are booking all your time and you are also coming short on you budget due to a lack of time to work? Relax, we get you covered. Here is a list of 15 the most interesting events and winter activites, all of them for free.

1. International dinner and screening, Goethe Institut, January 28, 6 pm

If you love tasting new dishes, you shouldn't miss the International dinner at Goethe Institut, where you need to register and bring your national food for a large buffet, to share with everyone. And ofcourse taste and choose the best one. Afterwards, just settle down with your belly full enough and enjoy the screening of Kebab Connection movie.

2. Creative Morning - Martin Hradecký, Radlická, January 30, 8:30 am

Creative Mornings is an incredible concept that enriches breakfasts worldwide. In Prague, they've been held regularly for several years already, every once in a month. You can start your day with tea and cake and listen to intereting people talking about what they do in various environment of interesting urban places

3. Downmall Tour 2015, OC Arkády, January 31, 1 pm

Shopping malls do not only serve to tiring marching between the straps! On contrary, you can expect something exciting to happen like this unique mountain bike race through the bowels of OC Arkády.

4. Free screening, The European House, February 4, 7 pm

Every second Wednesday of the month, you can see diverse genre films from all over the old continent at The European House in Prauge. Don't waste your time on mainstream, intelligence manages alternative ;)

5. Artsemestr - BONES party, Branik former brewery, February 8 pm

It wouldn't be for the UMPRUM students to not having something special ready for the end of the semestr. Specifically, they are hosting a giant semester afterparty in the former brewery Braník with legendary Czech W.W.W on stage.

6. Café Liberte, DOX, every Sunday, 4 pm

Every Sunday until mid-March you can meetinteresting people in the cafe DOX . Once the exams period is over, your brain might be washed out, but you should still come to the cafe at DOX to meet interesting people during the accompanying program of Mods of Democrasy exhibition. That means discussions, lectures or workshops. 

7. FOODMANIA, Holešovice Expo, February 20-22

The way food festivals are usually arranged is that you pay the admission and besides pay for the tastings. This one's different, though, because the entrance is for free!

8. Bookcases around Prague, anytime, anywhere

Petr Ryska loves the city and so ho wanders around all the time. After, he wrotes his own blog or rather an online magazin about his adventures. It is called Prague Unkown and it is in Czech. 9. Singles Party, Phenomen, every Thursday

Did you buried yourself in books and forgot what dating, a partner or a kiss mean? They wil take care of you in Phenomen club - every Thursday, a party takes place for singles. To relayx, you also have a free flirting drink.

10. ArtSpotting, anytime, anywhere

25 students of Arts Management at the University of Economics have decided that they are tired of all the tourist attractions of Prague. They created a map of other pieces of art - the street art pearls in the streets of the city. Just look above your head or download the map and you will meet a whole new Prague.

11. AppParade, Bio OKO, February 23, 8:30 pm

Mobile applications freaks can happily dance pas de deux. AppParade at Bio OKO is always an interesting showcase of new creations by Czech geeks. Admission is free and you can even pay with Bitcoins at the bar.

12. SkiPark Velká Chuchle, whole winter

Sport is the best antidote. If you miss cross-country skiing in the concrete jungle of Prague or you just want to learn how to or practice, here you have a whole ski track for free. Equipment is ready, too.

13. Skating Rink, Karlin Spektrum, weekdays

Okay, we admit that this tip is not entirely for free. But according to the survey of CityBee.cz it is the very cheapest way of getting to skate in Prague! Admission is only 20 CZK.

14. Hrzánský palace - Symbols of the Republic, every Wednesday , 9 am - 2 pm

Perhaps you too have fun sneaking through every possible piece of the Golden City. We do it often so that we can get you places or events for free. Such as the exhibition at Hrzánský Palace, Loreta Square.
