Spring is almost here and what better way to enjoy the warmer days than outside with a cold beer? Welcome to the Czech Republic and one of the biggest and best cultures of beer gardens! There are many beer gardens inside and outside of Prague. Heck, you can create your own beer garden by grabbing a few beers and heading to the nearest park! But, in case you're wondering about the best and most popular spots in Prague to sip away your afternoons , we've compiled a list for you !

1.) Letná Beer Garden

Arguably the best beer garden in Prague with views overlooking Stare Mesto and most of the city. There are many picnic tables set up under the trees and if you're lucky, you'll get the best view of any firework show set off over the Vltava River. There's only one beer on tap (Gambrinus) but other spirits are offered along with the usual stand of sausages. Letna was also voted one of the best beer gardens in Europe by the travel channel, so definitely worth the visit.
Nearest stop: Letenske Namesti .

2.) Riegrovy Sady

Probably one of my favorite beer gardens because of the convienent location , variety of beers, and great open space. Riegrovy Sady is located in Vinohrady and has two beer gardens! One is larger and enclosed but open roofed so you can still enjoy the fresh air. There are multiple stands serving up varieties of sausage plates, cheeseburgers, and fried cheese along with a smaller stand offering selections from smaller breweries. If you're not in the mood for burgers or weiners you can walk across to the restaurant that serves pasta , rissotto, and other Italian specialities along with some Czech classics. The second beer garden is smaller but with rooftop seating and a separate grill during the Summer. Nearest stop: Na Smetance

3.) Hospudka Na Hradbách

Looking for a less crowded atmosphere with more locals? Then the beer garden at Vyšehrad might be your best bet. The beer garden is located inside the castle gates and you can sit in the garden as well as inside (which means it is open year around) or take your beer to go in a plastic cup to explore the perimeter walls. Balkan specialities are grilled outside along with vegetarian cuisine. Nearest stop: Vyšehrad and then a 1km walk from there.

4.) Stromovka

Stromovka is one of the largest parks in Prague! It's one of my favorite beer gardens to visit when I really want to feel like I'm out of the city and away somewhere in the forest. You can happily wander the many trails through winding hills and find an endless canopy of tree tops and small bridges. The park is home to many festivals during Spring and Summer which makes it a great place to always experience something different. There is also a restaurant that serves up burgers and grilled cheeses as well bbqs to rent so you can have your own grill party at the park. Nearest stop: Vystavište Holešovice

5.) Parukarka

One of the smaller beer gardens in Prague located in Žižkov atop a hill with great views of Vitkov. This is home to the Žižkov beer festival but you can enjoy Pilsner Urquell or Gambrinus on tap during Spring and Summer at their beer garden. You can also take your beer glass anywhere on the hill with a 50czk deposit that is returned to you once you return the glass. Also a great spot to do some star gazing as the bright lights of the city don't reach the hill top. Nearest stop: Olšanské Námestí

Take a blanket, some snacks, and a water bottle (to rehydrate of course) and you're set to spend your afternoon at a beer garden in Prague!
