Top 5 places for ice-skating during Christmas time!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas. In addition to hot wine, Christmas markets and gift shopping, ice skating really creates that winter feel. And where better to ice skate that in Prague with the Prague Castle as your back drop? There are many locations throughout the city to choose from ; whether you want indoor, out door, or to skate on a frozen lake/pond.

Top 5 Place to Ice Skate

(1) If you're already spending the day out shopping, then Ovocny Trh in Old Town is perfect. Skating is free if you have your own skates, and is already open for the season. If you don't have skates, the cost is 50czk per hour. You also have the Nakupni shopping center nearby if you have to do some last minute shopping.

(2.) Near Kotva shopping center on Kozi St. is Na Františku outdoor rink. Also open for the season and open during the week at different intervals.

(3) Below the Žižkov Tower you can ice skate for two hour sessions. You pay 100czk for your session and 50czk if you need to rent skates. The bar and cafe offer a great break from the activity and you can listen to music and enjoy grilled food on Saturday evenings.

(4) Outside of the center, off of Českomoravská on the yellow metro line , you can find Galerie Harfa. A huge shopping center (with one of my favorite food courts). The rink is outside, on the roof of the center. You don't have to pay for your skating sessions and the rink is open on Saturday from 1pm to 6:30pm.

5.) Prefer an inside rink instead? At Výstavište Holešovice you can skate inside the arena , also for 50czk. Children are half price. Looking to have an ice skating party with all of your friends? You can rent out the rink for for 2,000 czk an hour and have a private party!
